DistrictRP Wiki:Manual of style

To maintain a pleasant encyclopaedia, DistrictRP has guidelines for wiki content, listed in this manual of style.

Article titles

The titles of articles should follow a simple nomenclature. For players, use their usernames; when a username is changed, the page can be moved. For organisations like businesses and political parties, use their official names, and do not include any abbreviations. For creative works, use the official title, and where appropriate, use {{DISPLAYTITLE}} to italicise the title.

Language

All wiki content, except quotations, original names and media files, must be in British English. Use British American spellings unless quoting someone. For example, write "organisation" instead of "organization".

Capitalisation

Always use sentence case unless quoting someone. This applies to article titles, sections, templates and categories. Always capitalise common nouns, but avoid unnecessary capitalisation.

Punctuation

Always use correct punctuation. Avoid the serial comma where it is not needed, but use it if necessary to reduce ambiguity.
