The Ministry of Culture and Welfare (abbreviated MCW) is a ministry of the Federal Republic of Newport. The ministry is headed by the Minister of Culture and Welfare as a member of the Cabinet of Newport.
The current minister is AverageAnnika. She was appointed by President Talion77 on August 8 2026.
History
The ministry was first formed when President Talion77 provided his assent to the Ministries Act on July 21 2026. Not long after, he appointed TheArtemis_ as the first Minister of Culture and Welfare.
Responsibilities
The Ministries Act tasks the ministry with the following responsibilities:
- Handling the wiki, university exams and education.
- Handling national healthcare.
- Handling all technology related issues and managing the Federal Republic's web ecosystem, with the assistance of the staff team.
Structure
The ministry contains several subdepartments, each consisting of its own leadership and staff.
Ministry Leadership
Minister: Serves at the pleasure of the Chancellor. They lead the Ministry by appointing its leadership and approving and creating policy changes.
Department of Education
Secretary of Education: Serves at the pleasure of the Minister. They lead the Department of Education that manages the wiki, university exams and education.
Librarian: Serves under the Secretary of Education. They edit and create wiki pages.
Professor: Serves under the Secretary of Education. They work with the staff team to manage and create examinations.
Department of Health
Surgeon General: Serves at the pleasure of the Minister. They lead the Department of Health that manages the national healthcare service. They also serve ex officio as the President of the Council of Medicine.
Medical Councilor: Serves at the pleasure of the Surgeon General as a member of the Council of Medicine. They vote on policy changes and cases of medical malpractice.
Medical Director: Serves under the Surgeon General. They train new employees and help manage the department.
Doctor: Serves under the Surgeon General. They diagnose illnesses and treat patients.
Department of Technology and Infrastructure
Secretary of Technology and Infrastructure: Serves at the pleasure of the Minister. They lead the Department of Technology and Infrastructure that manages the Federal Republic's web ecosystem.
Deputy Secretary of Technology and Infrastructure: Serves at the pleasure of the Secretary of Technology and Infrastructure. They assist the Secretary of Technology and Infrastructure in their duties.
